Identify the equipment receiving the torch

Provide the welding equipment designation and the available documents for the assembly that will receive the requested torch. State whether the enquiry concerns a complete new package or a replacement accessory for equipment already held by your project.

Ask the supplier to identify the proposed torch reference and its associated equipment configuration. Request clarification if the response uses another equipment designation, and keep any proposed alternative separate from the original replacement or package requirement.

Request torch and connection drawings

Attach the existing connection drawings and connector photographs where available. Ask for the proposed torch assembly drawing and the mating connection documents your project specialist needs to review, including identification of cable and control items supplied with the assembly.

Describe the cable route and access information relevant to the project enquiry. Request a written response about any connection item requiring separate supply, and ask for a revised assembly schedule if a proposed change alters the requested torch package.

Separate consumables from complete assemblies

Ask for an accessory schedule that distinguishes the complete torch from individually requested consumable or replacement components. Request a component reference and identification drawing for each item your purchasing team needs to compare with an existing part or sample.

Provide photographs and available references for retained components. Ask the supplier to identify which equipment configuration its component response concerns, and refer differences in part revision or assembly identity to your responsible project specialist before approving a replacement item.

Prepare the torch purchasing review

Define the purchaser observations required for any requested torch sample or document review. Ask the supplier to identify the assembly and accessory references proposed for that review, and keep its response linked to the same equipment designation used in the quotation.

Request the associated maintenance documents and written warranty terms. Confirm minimum order quantity and lead time before ordering, ask for packaging and delivery terms, and obtain a final inclusion schedule identifying the torch and any separately supplied accessories.
